MARITIME POWERS ACT 2013 - SECT 31

Exercis ing powers for authorised purpose

    The maritime officer may exercise maritime powers to do whichever of the following applies in accordance with the authorisation :

  (a)   inv estigat e or prevent the contravention;

  (b)   administer or ensur e compliance with the monitoring law ;

  (c)   administer , ensure c ompliance with or investigate a contravention of the international agreement or international decision ;

  (d)   acces s or seize the evidential material;

  (e)   enforce the warrant that is in force under an Australian law;

  (f)   identi fy the vessel or aircraft;

  (g)   retain the seizable transit goods .
