Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) For the purposes of the definition of example period in sections 172 and 173 for an incapacitated person who was a continuous full - time Reservist when the service injury was sustained, or the service disease was contracted, the Commission may determine, as the end of the example period, a time before the person last ceased to be a member of the Defence Force (instead of a time before the person began his or her last period of continuous full - time service).
(2) If the Commission does so, a reference in sections
171, 172 and 173 to a time before the person began his or her last period of
continuous full - time service is taken instead to be a reference to a time
before the person last ceased to be a member of the Defence Force.
