NAVIGATION ACT 2012 - SECT 165

  (1)   T he regu lations may make provision in relation to the operations of licensed pilots and licensed pilotage provider s .

  (2)   Without limiting subsection   ( 1), the regulations may make provision in relation to the following:

  (a)   the duties of a licensed pilot or a licensed pilotage provider and the manner of discharging those duties;

  (b)   the professional relationship between :

  ( i )   a licensed pil ot and officers of a vessel; and

  (ii)   a licensed pilotage pr ovider and a licensed pilot;

  (c)   the provision of equipment or information by a licensed pilotage provider to a licensed pilot;

  (d)   matters relating to pilotage safety management systems including the content and imp lementation of such systems;

  (e)   the keeping of rec ords ;

  (f)   the training of pilots ;

  (g)   the monitoring of the performa nce of licensed pilots and licensed pilotage provider s ;

  (h)   the professional liability of licensed pilots and licensed pilotage provider s and the l imitation of that liability;

  ( i )   auditing and monitoring of licensed pilots and licensed pilotage providers.
