Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) A person may apply to the Titles Administrator for the grant of a petroleum special prospecting authority over a block or blocks, so long as none of the following is in force over that block or any of those blocks:
(a) a petroleum exploration permit;
(b) a petroleum retention lease;
(c) a petroleum production licence;
(d) a greenhouse gas assessment permit;
(e) a greenhouse gas holding lease;
(f) a greenhouse gas injection licence.
(2) An application under this section must specify:
(a) the petroleum exploration operations that the applicant proposes to carry on; and
(b) the block or blocks within which the applicant proposes to carry on those operations.
