Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) A regulation ( a service regulation ) may provide for or in relation to the way in which documents are required or permitted to be given for the purposes of this Act or a legislative instrument under this Act.
Example 1: A service regulation may require or permit documents to be given by email or fax or another form of electronic transmission.
Example 2: If a service regulation requires or permits documents to be given by email transmission, or by prepayment and postage as letters, the regulation may provide for a time at which the documents are taken to be given.

(2) This section, and any service regulations, have effect
despite any provision in the Electronic Transactions Act 1999 .
