Commonwealth Consolidated Acts Commonwealth Consolidated Acts(1) Service of the subpoena is effective only if, at the time of service or at some other reasonable time before the person to whom the subpoena is addressed is required to comply with it, allowances and travelling expenses sufficient to meet the person's reasonable expenses of complying with the subpoena are paid or tendered to the person.
(2) Nothing in this section affects the operation of subsection 11AA(9) of the Christmas Island Act 1958 or subsection 15AC(9) of the Cocos (Keeling) Islands Act 1955 .
