The Governor - General may make regulations, not inconsistent with this Act, prescribing matters:
(a) required or permitted by this Act to be prescribed; or
(b) necessary or convenient to be prescribed for carrying out or giving effect to this Act.
An employer or a person conducting a business or undertaking must take reasonable and proportionate measures to eliminate, as far as possible, certain discriminatory conduct.
Division 4A of Part II of the
Australian Human Rights Commission Act 1986 confers functions on the President
in relation to this duty, including inquiring into compliance, giving
compliance notices and accepting undertakings.
