Commonwealth Consolidated Regulations Commonwealth Consolidated Regulations(1) The holder of a flight crew licence may apply to CASA, in writing, for authorisation to act as a flight crew member of an aircraft for which the person does not hold a pilot type rating or flight engineer type rating during a flight conducted for the purpose of:
(b) conducting an experiment in relation to the aircraft.
(2) Subject to regulation 11.055, CASA must grant the authorisation.
(3) If CASA grants the authorisation, the person is authorised
to act as a flight crew member during the flight in accordance with the
authorisation.
