(1) The amendments made by items 2 and 3 of Schedule 1 do not affect the validity of an appointment made under section 9AA of the Quarantine Act 1908 before the commencement of this section. (2) An appointment of a person as a quarantine officer (animals) and a quarantine officer (plants) purporting to have been made under section 9AA of the Quarantine Act 1908 before the commencement of this section is taken to have been validly made.
