•       The Australian National Registry of Emissions Units is continued in existence.

•       The Administrator may, in accordance with the regulations, open a Registry account in the name of a person.

•       Entries may be made in Registry accounts for:

               (a)     Australian carbon credit units; and

              (b)     Kyoto units; and

               (c)     non-Kyoto international emissions units.

•       This Act sets out rules about dealings with:

               (a)     Kyoto units; and

              (b)     non-Kyoto international emissions units.
