AUSTRALIAN WAR MEMORIAL ACT 1980 No. 104 of 1980 - SECT 48

Report of operations of Board
48. (1) The Memorial shall, not later than 6 months after the commencement of
this Act, prepare and submit to the Minister a report of the operations of the
Board during the period that commenced on 1 July 1979 and ended
immediately before the commencing date (in this section referred to as "the
final year"), together with financial statements in respect of the final year
in such form as the Minister approves.

(2) Before submitting financial statements to the Minister under sub-section
(1), the Memorial shall submit them to the Auditor-General, who shall report
to the Minister-

   (a)  whether, in his opinion, the statements are based on proper accounts
        and records;

   (b)  whether the statements are in agreement with the accounts and records
        and show fairly the financial operations of the Board and the state of
        the Fund and the affairs of the Board;

   (c)  whether the receipt and expenditure of moneys by the Board during the
        year have been in accordance with this Act; and

   (d)  as to such other matters arising out of the statements as the Auditor-
        General considers should be reported to the Minister.

(3) The Minister shall cause copies of the report and financial statements
together with a copy of the report of the Auditor-General to be laid before
each House of the Parliament within 15 sitting days of that House after their
receipt by the Minister.

(4) The persons who, immediately before the commencing date, were members of
the Board shall furnish the Memorial with such information as is necessary to
enable the Memorial to prepare the report and financial statements.
