BROADCASTING AND TELEVISION AMENDMENT ACT 1985 No. 66 of 1985 - SECT 20

20. Section 22AA of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is
substituted: Parties to proceedings at ordinary inquiries

"22AA. (1) The following persons shall be parties to proceedings before the
Tribunal at an ordinary inquiry:

   (a)  where the inquiry is to be held on the application, or at the request,
        of a person-that person;

   (b)  any other person who has, in accordance with this Act or the
        regulations, lodged a document in relation to the inquiry, being a
        document that the Tribunal considers relevant to the inquiry;

   (c)  where the Tribunal directs that, by reason of special circumstances,
        it is in the public interest to allow another person or persons to be
        party to the proceedings-that person or each of those persons, as the
        case may be.

"(2) Notwithstanding sub-section (1), the Tribunal, having regard to the area
or areas of interest of any party to proceedings before the Tribunal at an
ordinary inquiry, may direct that the participation of the party in those
proceedings should be limited in accordance with the direction.".
