CORPORATIONS ACT 1989 No. 109 of 1989 - SECT 1301
Location of books kept on computers etc.
1301. (1) This section has effect where a corporation records otherwise than
in written form the matters required to be contained in a book and means are
provided by which those matters are made available for inspection in written
form at a place (in this section referred to as the "place of inspection")
other than the place (in this section referred to as the "place of storage")
where the material constituting the record is kept.
(2) If the place of inspection in respect of a book is at a place where, apart
from this section, the book would be required to be kept, the corporation
shall be deemed to have complied with the requirements of this Act as to the
location of the book.
(3) Subsection (2) applies only if the corporation:
(a) has lodged a notice stating that it desires to avail itself of this
section in respect of a specified book and specifying the situation of
the place of inspection and the place of storage in respect of that
book; and
(b) where such a situation is changed, has within 14 days after the change
lodged notice of the change.
