CORPORATIONS ACT 1989 No. 109 of 1989 - SECT 148
Certificate of registration
148. (1) On registering a body corporate as a company under Division 2, 3 or
4, the Commission shall prepare a certificate under its common seal that
complies with this section and shall issue the certificate to the body.
(2) The certificate shall state that the body:
(a) is registered as a company under that Division; and
(b) because of that registration, is an incorporated company; and shall
specify the day of commencement of the registration.
(3) The certificate shall state that the body is:
(a) a company limited by shares;
(b) a company limited by guarantee;
(c) a company limited both by shares and by guarantee;
(d) an unlimited company; or
(e) a no liability company; as the case requires.
(4) The certificate shall state that the body is a proprietary company or a
public company, as the case requires.
(5) The Commission shall keep a copy of a certificate issued under this
section, and subsections 1274 (2) and (5) apply in relation to that copy as if
it were a document lodged with the Commission.
