CORPORATIONS ACT 1989 No. 109 of 1989 - SECT 695

Defence
695. In a prosecution of a person for failing to serve a notice on a
securities exchange under this Division, it is a defence if it is proved that:

   (a)  when the person was required to serve the notice the person was not
        aware of a fact or occurrence that gave rise to the requirement; and

   (b)  the person did not become aware of that fact or occurrence before the
        end of the relevant period or, if the person became so aware before
        the end of that period, the person served the notice on the next
        trading day of the securities exchange after becoming so aware.
