CORPORATIONS ACT 1989 No. 109 of 1989 - SECT 83

83. (1) A reference, in relation to a contravention, to an officer of a body
corporate, or to a person, who is in default is a reference to an officer of
the body (including a person who later ceases to be such an officer), or to a
person, as the case may be, who is involved in the contravention.

(2) A secretary of a body corporate shall, unless the contrary is proved, be
deemed to be knowingly concerned in and party to a contravention by the body
of:

   (a)  a provision of section 217; or

   (b)  a provision of section 242 or 335 requiring the lodgment of a
        document.
