CUSTOMS AMENDMENT ACT (NO. 3) 1980 No. 110 of 1980 - SECT 17

17. Section 183Q of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section
substituted: Statements by witness

"183Q. A person is not excused from answering a question or producing a book
or document when required to do so under section 183P on the ground that the
answer to the question, or the production of the book or document, might tend
to incriminate him or make him liable to a penalty, but his answer to any such
question is not admissible in evidence against him in proceedings other than
proceedings for-

   (a)  an offence against paragraph (b) or (c) of section 183P; or

   (b)  an offence in connection with the making by him of a statement in an
        examination before the Committee under section 183N.".
