CUSTOMS AND EXCISE LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT (No. 1) 1997 No. 97 of 1997 - SECT 2

(1) Subject to subsections (2) to (5), this Act commences on the day on which
it receives the Royal Assent.

(2) The items of Schedule 1 (other than item 27) and Schedule 2 (other than
item 14) commence on a day or days to be fixed by Proclamation.

(3) If an item to which subsection (2) applies does not commence within a
period of 6 months after the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent,
the item commences on the first day after the end of that period.

(4) Item 27 of Schedule 1 commences immediately after the commencement of item
26 of that Schedule under subsection (2) or (3).

(5) Item 14 of Schedule 2 commences immediately after the commencement of item
13 of that Schedule under subsection (2) or (3).
