Commonwealth Electoral Legislation Amendment Act 1983 No. 144 of 1983 - SECT 50

50. Section 70 of the Principal Act is repealed and the following section is
substituted: State and Territory members not entitled to be nominated

''70. A person who is, at the hour of nomination, a member of-

   (a)  the Parliament of a State;

   (b)  the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory of Australia; or

   (c)  the Australian Capital Territory House of Assembly,
is not capable of being nominated as a Senator or as a Member of the House of
Representatives.''.
