COMPANIES (ACQUISITION OF SHARES) ACT 1980 No. 64 of 1980 - SECT 61

Power of Commission to intervene in proceedings
61. (1) The Commission may intervene in any proceeding relating to a matter
arising under this Act.

(2) Where the Commission intervenes in any proceeding referred to in
sub-section (1), the Commission shall be deemed to be a party to the
proceeding with all the rights, duties and liabilities of such a party.

(3) Without limiting the generality of sub-section (2), the Commission may
appear and be represented in any proceeding in which it wishes to intervene
pursuant to sub-section (1)-

   (a)  by an employee of the Commission;

   (b)  by a natural person to whom, or by an officer or employee of a person
        to whom or to which, the Commission has delegated its functions and
        powers under this Act or such of those functions and powers as relate
        to a matter to which the proceeding relates; or

   (c)  by solicitor or counsel.
