Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1983 No. 113 of 1983 - SECT 16

16. The Director, or a member of the staff of the Office who is a legal
practitioner, is, in his official capacity-

   (a)  entitled to practise as a barrister, solicitor, or barrister and
        solicitor, in a federal court or in a court of a State or Territory;
        and

   (b)  entitled to all the rights and privileges of a barrister, solicitor,
        or barrister and solicitor, as the case may be, in that court,
whether or not he would, but for this section, be entitled to practise in that
court.
