FEDERAL MAGISTRATES ACT 1999 - SECT 58

Oaths and affirmations
(1)
A Federal Magistrate may require and administer all necessary oaths and affirmations for the purposes of the Federal Magistrates Court.

(2)
A Federal Magistrate may cause to be administered all necessary oaths and affirmations for the purposes of the Federal Magistrates Court. For this purpose, the Federal Magistrates Court may, either orally or in writing, authorise any person (whether in or outside Australia) to administer oaths and affirmations.

(3)
The Chief Executive Officer may, by written instrument, authorise:

(a)
a Registrar; or

(b)
a member of the staff of the Federal Magistrates Court;

to administer oaths and affirmations for the purposes of the Federal Magistrates Court.
