HOUSING ASSISTANCE ACT 1989 No. 7 of 1990 - SECT 5

5. (1) Subject to sections 6, 11, 12 and 13, the Minister may, in any grant
year in which a housing agreement with a State is in force, authorise the
payment to the State, by way of financial assistance, of such amounts as the
Minister determines to be appropriate:

   (a)  for expenditure by the State in respect of the year for the purpose of
        specific housing assistance referred to in the agreement; or

   (b)  for expenditure by the State in respect of the year for any other
        purpose related to housing and in respect of which an amount paid to
        the State under the agreement may be expended.

(2) Payments are to be made on the terms and conditions specified in the
agreement.
