HOSPITALS AND HEALTH SERVICES COMMISSION ACT 1973 No. 211 of 1973 - SECT 14
Termination of office.
14. (1) The Governor-General may terminate the appointment of a Commissioner
by reason of misbehaviour or physical or mental incapacity.
(2) If a Commissioner-
(a) being a full-time Commissioner, engages in paid employment outside the
duties of his office without the approval of the Minister;
(b) being a full-time Commissioner, is absent from duty, except on leave
of absence granted by the Minister, for 14 consecutive days or for 28
days in any 12 months;
(c) being a part-time Commissioner, is absent, except on leave granted by
the Commission, from 3 consecutive meetings of the Commission; or
(d) becomes bankrupt or applies to take the benefit of any law for the
relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his creditors
or makes an assignment of his remuneration for their benefit, the
Governor-General shall terminate the appointment of the Commissioner.
