HEALTH, HOUSING AND COMMUNITY SERVICES LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1992 No. 88 of 1992 - SECT 35

35. Section 12 of the Principal Act is amended:
(a) by omitting from subsections (2), (3), (4) and (6) "Medicare Benefits
Advisory Committee" (wherever occurring) and substituting "applicable
committee";

   (b)  by adding at the end the following subsection:

"(8) In this section:
'applicable committee', in relation to an appeal, means:

   (a)  if the claim to which the appeal relates is in respect of a pathology
        service - the Pathology Services Table Committee; or

   (b)  in any other case - the Medicare Benefits Advisory Committee.".
