HEALTH INSURANCE AMENDMENT ACT (No. 2) 1978 No. 133 of 1978 - SECT 17

17. Section 21 of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) ''the date fixed for the purposes of
section 10'' and substituting ''1 November 1978'';

   (b)  by omitting sub-section (2) and substituting the following
        sub-section:

''(2) A Commonwealth medical benefit under sub-section (1) is payable to the
person who has incurred the medical expenses in respect of the medical service
and shall be paid to that person in such manner as the Minister determines.'';

   (c)  by omitting paragraph (b) of sub-section (3) and substituting the
        following paragraph:

''(b) any other person approved by the Minister, by writing signed by him, for
the purposes of this definition.''; and

   (d)  by omitting sub-sections (3C) and (3D).
