HUMAN RIGHTS AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS AND CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) ACT 1986 No. 126 of 1986 - SECT 18

18. Section 27 of the Principal Act is amended-
(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) "insult," and "sections 21 and 22 of";

   (b)  by inserting after sub-section (1) the following penalty:

"Penalty for an offence against sub-section (1):

   (a)  in the case of a natural person - $1,000; or

   (b)  in the case of a body corporate - $5,000.";

   (c)  by omitting from paragraph (2) (g) " section 22" and substituting
        "section 24C"; and

   (d)  by omitting "Penalty: $500." and substituting the following penalty:

"Penalty for an offence against sub-section (2):

   (a)  in the case of a natural person - $2,500 or imprisonment for 3 months,
        or both; or

   (b)  in the case of a body corporate - $10,000.".
