INDUSTRY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACT 1986 No. 89 of 1986 - SECT 22

Committees
22. (1) The Minister may, from time to time, by notice in writing published in
the Gazette, appoint such committees as the Minister considers necessary for
providing advice to the Board on matters relating to the operation of this
Act.

(2) A committee shall consist of not more than 7 members (who may include a
member or members of the Board) who shall be appointed by the Minister and
shall hold office during the pleasure of the Minister.

(3) The Minister may appoint a member of a committee to be the Chairperson of
the committee.

(4) Where the Minister notifies a committee that he or she does not propose to
appoint a Chairperson of the committee under sub-section (3), the committee
shall elect a member of the committee to be the Chairperson of the committee.

(5) A member of a committee shall hold office on such terms and conditions (if
any) in respect of matters not provided for by this Act as are determined by
the Minister.

(6) A member of a committee may resign by writing signed by the member and
delivered to the Minister.

(7) The Board may refer to a committee for advice any matter relating to the
operation of this Act.

(8) A committee shall cause minutes of its meetings to be kept.
