LANDS ACQUISITION ACT 1989 No. 15 of 1989 - SECT 49

Effect of acquisition of mortgage interest on rights of mortgagee 
49. Where a mortgage interest is acquired by compulsory process, the mortgagee
retains, in respect of so much of the mortgage debt as is not discharged by
section 68, any rights and remedies that the mortgagee may have:

   (a)  against the mortgagor; or

   (b)  in respect of any interest in land that is still subject to the
        mortgage.
