LAYING CHICKEN LEVY AMENDMENT ACT 1989 No. 126 of 1989 - SECT 4

4. Section 9 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsections (2) and
(3) and substituting the following subsections:

"(2) Regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of
paragraph 7 (a) unless the Australian Council of Egg Producers has made a
recommendation to the Minister with respect to the amount to be prescribed for
the purposes of that paragraph.

"(3) Regulations shall not be made prescribing an amount for the purposes of
paragraph 7 (b) unless the members of the Exotic Animal Disease Preparedness
Consultative Council (being the Council established by the Exotic Animal 
Disease Control Act 1989 ) nominated by the National Farmers' Federation have
made a recommendation to the Minister with respect to the amount to be
prescribed for the purposes of that paragraph.

"(4) Regulations shall not be made for the purposes of paragraph 7 (a) or (b)
prescribing an amount that is greater than the amount recommended.".
