LIFE INSURANCE AMENDMENT ACT 1977 No. 32 of 1977 - SECT 3

3. (1) Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) the definitions of ''actuary'' and
''approved securities'';

(b) by inserting after the definition of ''industrial policy'' in sub-section
(1) the following definition:-

'' 'insurance business' has the same meaning as in the Insurance Act  1973 ;''
and

   (c)  by adding at the end thereof the following sub-section:-

''(9) In this Act, unless the contrary intention appears, a reference to the
Companies Ordinance 1962 of the Australian Capital Territory shall be read as
a reference to that Ordinance as originally made and as amended from time to
time.''.

(2) Section 4 of the Principal Act is amended-

(a) by inserting after the definition of ''continuous disability insurance
contract'' in sub-section (1) the following definition:-

'' 'Court' means the Federal Court of Australia;'';

(b) by inserting after the definition of ''public securities'' in sub-section
(1) the following definition:-

'' 'Rules of Court' means the Rules of Court in force under the Federal  Court
of Australia Act 1976 ;''; and

   (c)  by omitting from sub-section (1) the definition of ''the Court''.
