MEDICARE LEVY ACT 1986 No. 110, 1986 - SECT 11

11. (1) The levy imposed by this Act is levied, and shall be paid, for the
financial year that commenced on 1 July 1986.

(2) Until the Parliament otherwise provides, the levy imposed by this Act is
also levied, and shall be paid, for the financial year commencing on 1 July
1987.

(3) For the purposes of its application in accordance with sub-section (2),
this Act has effect as if-

   (a)  the references in section 6 and sub-section 8 (2) to 1.145% were
        references to 1.25%;

   (b)  the reference in sub-section 7 (2) to $8,517 were a reference to
        $8,565;

   (c)  the reference in sub-section 7 (4) to $441 were a reference to $443;
        and

   (d)  the reference in sub-section 8 (2) to 0.18855 were a reference to
        0.1875.
