MERIT PROTECTION (AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES) ACT 1984 No. 65, 1984 - SECT 54
Conduct of investigations
54. (1) Before commencing to investigate action taken by a Department or
Commonwealth authority, the Agency shall inform such officer in the Department
or authority as the Agency considers appropriate that the action is to be
investigated.
(2) It is not necessary for the applicant or any other person to be afforded
an opportunity to appear before the Agency or any other person in connection
with an investigation by the Agency under this Division.
