MARITIME TRANSPORT SECURITY ACT 2003 No. 131, 2003 - SECT 33
Secretary may give security directions
- (1)
- The Secretary may direct that additional security measures be implemented
or complied with.
- (2)
- A direction under subsection (1) is a security direction .
- (3)
- The Secretary must not give a security direction unless it is appropriate
to do so because an unlawful interference with maritime transport is probable
or imminent.
- (4)
- A security direction has no effect until the Secretary commits the
direction to writing.
Note: This requires the Secretary to have a written record of a direction that
is given orally.
- (5)
- The regulations may prescribe requirements for, or in relation to, the
giving of security directions.
