NATIONAL CRIME AUTHORITY ACT 1984 No. 41, 1984 - SECT 43
Termination of appointment
43. (1) The Governor-General may terminate the appointment of a member by
reason of misbehaviour or physical or mental incapacity.
(2) If a member-
(a) becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for the
relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his creditors
or makes an assignment of his remuneration for their benefit;
(b) engages, except with the approval of the Minister, in paid employment
outside the duties of his office;
(c) is absent from duty, except on leave granted by the Minister in
accordance with section 40, for 14 consecutive days, or for 28 days in
any period of 12 months; or
(d) fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with his obligations under
section 42, the Governor-General shall terminate the appointment of
that member.
(3) Sub-sections (1) and (2) do not apply to a member who is a Judge, but, if
a member who is a Judge ceases to be a Judge, the Governor-General may
terminate his appointment.
