Registration by Health Insurance Commission
(1) A person who is eligible to apply for registration in respect of a private
health insurance policy for a financial year (see section 4- 2) may apply
under section 4-3, to the health fund that issued the policy, to be registered
by the Commission in respect of the policy for that year.
(2) If the health fund receives such an application, it must notify the
Commission of the application (see section 4-4).
(3) On receiving a notice under subsection (2), the Commission must register
the person in respect of the policy for that financial year, unless the
Commission is satisfied that:
(a) the person is not eligible to participate in the incentives scheme; or
(b) the notice contains information that is incorrect. Note: Refusals to
register are reviewable under section 13-1.
