REFERENDUM (MACHINERY PROVISIONS) ACT 1984 No. 44, 1984 - SECT 92

92. (1) If, at the scrutiny, a scrutineer appointed under section 89 objects
to a ballot-paper as being informal, the officer conducting the scrutiny shall
mark the ballot-paper ''allowed'' or ''rejected'' according to his decision to
allow or reject the ballot-paper.

(2) Nothing in this section prevents an officer conducting the scrutiny from
rejecting any ballot-paper as being informal although it is not objected to.
