SYDNEY 2000 GAMES (INDICIA AND IMAGES) PROTECTION ACT 1996 No. 22, 1996 - SECT 46

(1) If SOCOG, SPOC or a licensed user suffers loss or damage as a result of
anything done by a person in contravention of section 12, the amount of the
loss or damage may be recovered by action in a prescribed court.

(2) The action must be brought within 3 years after the day on which the
contravention occurred. A request under section 27 for consent to the bringing
of an action must be given not later than the day preceding the last working
day before this Act ceases to have effect. Note: For when this Act ceases to
have effect see section 55.

(3) The grant of an injunction under section 43 does not prevent the award of
damages under this section.
