Supply Act (No. 1) 1983-84 No. 22 of 1983 - SECT 4

4. (1) In addition to the sum referred to in section 3, the Minister for
Finance may, at any time before 1 December 1983, issue out of the Consolidated
Revenue Fund for the service of the year ending on 30 June 1984 amounts not
exceeding such amounts as he determines in accordance with sub-section (2).

(2) The amounts determined by the Minister for Finance under this section
shall not exceed the amounts estimated to be necessary for the payment of such
increases in salaries and payments in the nature of salary, for which
provision is made in the Schedule, as have become payable or become payable,
or have commenced or commence to be paid, after 4 May 1983, in accordance with
any law, or in accordance with an award, order or determination made under a
law.

(3) Amounts issued under this section may be applied only for the purpose of
expenditure in respect of increases referred to in sub-section (2) in salaries
and in payments in the nature of salary.

(4) The Consolidated Revenue Fund is appropriated to the extent necessary for
the purposes of this section.
