SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY RESEARCH LEGISLATION AMENDMENT ACT 1986 No. 121, 1986 - SECT 17

17. Section 22 of the Principal Act is amended -
(a) by omitting from sub-section (1) "member" and substituting "parttime
member"; and

   (b)  by omitting sub-sections (2) and (3) and substituting the following
        sub-section:

"(2) If a part-time member -

   (a)  becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for relief of
        bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with his or her creditors or
        makes an assignment of his or her remuneration for their benefit;

   (b)  is absent, except on leave granted by the Minister, from 3 consecutive
        meetings of the Board; or

   (c)  fails, without reasonable excuse, to comply with section 23,
the Governor-General may terminate the appointment of the
member.".
