SCHOOLS COMMISSION ACT 1973 No. 213, 1973 - SECT 8

Leave of absence. 
8. The Minister may grant leave of absence to a member, or to an acting
member, upon such terms and conditions as to remuneration or otherwise as the
Minister determines.
