STATES GRANTS (PRIMARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION ASSISTANCE) ACT 1996 No. 70, 1996 - SECT 76

(1) Subject to subsection (2), the Minister may make a determination
authorising the making of payments to a State, by way of financial assistance
to the State for recurrent expenditure, or for expenditure on minor capital
projects, for a program year in connection with the education of students in
non-government schools in country areas.

(2) The sum of the amounts paid to the States under this section for a program
year must not be greater than the amount set out in column 6 of Schedule 8 in
relation to the program year. Note 1: Certain amounts paid to a State under
section 77 are taken to be paid under this section.
