TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1975 No. 55 of 1975 - SECT 23

23. (1) Subject to sub-section (2), a Commissioner shall be appointed for such
period, not exceeding 5 years, as is specified in the instrument of
appointment, but is eligible for re-appointment.

(2) The Commissioner referred to in paragraph 22 (1) (b) holds office during
the pleasure of the Governor-General.

(3) A person who has attained the age of 65 years shall not be appointed or
re-appointed as the Managing Director and a person shall not be appointed or
re-appointed as the Managing Director for a period that extends beyond the
date at which he will attain the age of 65 years.
