TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACT 1991 No. 98 of 1991 - SECT 66

Notification and date of effect of instruments under sections 64 and 65
66. (1) As soon as practicable after making an instrument under section 64 or
65, the Minister must:

   (a)  cause a copy to be published in the Gazette; and

   (b)  if the instrument was made under section 64 - give a copy to each
        carrier that holds a licence of a kind to which the instrument relates
        that is in effect when the instrument takes effect; and

   (c)  if the instrument was made under section 65 - give a copy to the
        carrier that holds the licence; and

   (d)  give a copy to each carrier that section 68 required the Minister to
        consult with before making the instrument.

(2) An instrument under section 64 or 65 takes effect:

   (a)  at the end of the day on which the Minister complies with paragraph
        (1) (a), and paragraph (1) (b) or (c), as the case requires, in
        relation to the instrument; or

   (b)  if the instrument states that it takes effect on a later day - on that
        later day.

(3) Subject to subsection (2), a contravention of this section does not affect
the validity of an instrument.

(4) An instrument made by the Minister under section 64 or 65 is a
disallowable instrument for the purposes of section 46A of the Acts 
Interpretation Act 1901 .
