TAXATION LAWS AMENDMENT ACT 1984No. 123, 1984 - SECT 11

11. Section 71 of the Principal Act is amended-

   (a)  by omitting sub-section (3) and substituting the following
        sub-section:

"(3) Where, by reason of an amendment of an assessment, a person's liability
to duty or tax is reduced, the amount by which the duty or tax is so reduced
shall be taken, for the purposes of section 81, never to have been payable.";
and

   (b)  by adding at the end thereof the following sub-sections:

"(5) In this section, 'duty or tax' includes an additional amount payable
under section 70.

"(6) In sub-section (4), unless the contrary intention appears, 'duty or tax'
also includes an additional amount payable under section 81.".
