TELECOMMUNICATIONS (TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS AND CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS) ACT 1997 No. 59 of 1997 - SECT 71

Before 1 July 1997, Part XIB of the Trade Practices Act 1974 has effect as if:

   (a)  a reference in that Part to a carrier were a reference to a carrier
        (within the meaning of the Telecommunications Act 1991); and

   (b)  a reference in section 87 of the Telecommunications Act 1997 to a
        carrier were a reference to a carrier (within the meaning of the
        Telecommunications Act 1991).
