TRANSPORT SAFETY INVESTIGATION ACT 2003 No. 18, 2003 - SECT 9

Penalties specified at foot of sections or subsections
(1)
This section applies if a maximum penalty is specified at the foot of a provision of this Act, being a provision that is either:

(a)
a section of this Act that is not divided into subsections; or

(b)
a subsection of a section of this Act.

(2)
If the provision is expressed to create an offence, then the offence is punishable, on conviction, by a penalty up to the maximum specified.

(3)
If the provision is not expressed to create an offence, then a person who contravenes the provision is guilty of an offence against the provision that is punishable, on conviction, by a penalty up to the maximum specified.
