WHALE PROTECTION ACT 1980 No. 92 of 1980 - SECT 36

36. A whale that is killed or taken by a person in waters to which this Act
applies, whether or not in contravention of this Act, vests, by force of this
section, in the Commonwealth, but the Commonwealth is not liable in any
action, suit or proceedings in respect of any matter relating to a whale at
any time before the taking of possession of the whale by the Commonwealth or
by an agent of the Commonwealth.
