  16.1   Definition of "notification":

After "member", insert "or staff member".
  16.2   Definition of "relevant day":
Omit the definition, substitute:

"'relevant day' means the day that occurs:

   (a)  in the case of a promotion to a position within the rank of sergeant
        or to a position at level 2 or 3-14 days after the day of
        notification; or

   (b)  in the case of a promotion to any other position-7 days after the day
        of notification.".
  16.3   Add at the end:


"(2) For the purposes of this Division, an appointment in respect of which a
person may appeal under subregulation 25CA (1) or 25CB (1) is taken to be a
promotion.".
