Charter of the United Nations (Sanctions -- C ôte d'Ivoire) Regulations 2008

1  Regulation 4

Insert:

Resolution 2045 means Resolution 2045 (2012) of the Security Council, adopted on 26 April 2012.

Resolution 2101 means Resolution 2101 (2013) of the Security Council, adopted on 25 April 2013.

2  Subregulation 9(5) (subparagraph (b)(iii) of the definition of authorised supply )

After "Resolution 1572", insert ", Resolution 2045 and Resolution 2101".

Insert:

Resolution 2095 means Resolution 2095 (2013) of the Security Council of the United Nations, adopted on 14 March 2013.

4  Subregulation 6(5) (subparagraph (b)(iii) of the definition of authorised supply )

After "Resolution 1970", insert ", Resolution 2095".

5  Paragraph 7(2)(a)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                     (a)  is a supply of non-lethal military equipment that is:

                              (i)  intended solely for humanitarian or protective use; or

                             (ii)  intended solely for security or disarmament assistance to the Libyan authorities; or

6  Subregulation 9(5) (subparagraph (b)(iii) of the definition of authorised service )

After "Resolution 1970", insert ", Resolution 2095".

7  Paragraph 10(2)(a)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                     (a)  consists of technical assistance and training that is related to the supply of non-lethal military equipment intended solely for humanitarian or protective use; or

8  Subparagraph 10(2)(b)(i)

Omit "subparagraph (a)(i)", substitute "paragraph (a)".

9  Paragraph 10(2)(c)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                     (c)  consists of technical assistance or training, or financial or other assistance that is intended solely for security or disarmament assistance to the Libyan authorities.

10  Regulation 4

Insert:

Resolution 2093 means Resolution 2093 (2013) of the Security Council of the United Nations, adopted on 6 March 2013.

11  Subregulation 8(5) (subparagraph (b)(iii) of the definition of authorised supply )

Omit "and Resolution 2060", substitute ", Resolution 2060 and Resolution 2093".

12  Paragraph 9(2)(f)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                      (f)  is solely for the support of, or use by, United Nations personnel, including:

                              (i)  the United Nations Political Office for Somalia; or

                             (ii)  a successor mission as authorised by paragraph 37 of Resolution 2093; or

                     (g)  is:

                              (i)  solely for the development of the security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia, and to provide security for the Somali people; and

                             (ii)  notified in advance to the Committee; or

                     (h)  is solely for the support of, or use by, AMISOM's strategic partners operating:

                              (i)  solely under the African Union Strategic Concept of 5 January 2012; and

                             (ii)  in cooperation and coordination with AMISOM;

                            as authorised by paragraph 36 of Resolution 2093.

Note:          AMISOM is the African Union Mission in Somalia.

13  Subregulation 10(4) (subparagraph (b)(iii) of the definition of authorised service )

Omit "and Resolution 1744", substitute ", Resolution 1744, Resolution 2060 and Resolution 2093".

14  Paragraph 11(2)(d)

Repeal the paragraph, substitute:

                     (d)  is solely for the support of, or use by, United Nations personnel, including:

                              (i)  the United Nations Political Office for Somalia; or

                             (ii)  a successor mission as authorised by paragraph 37 of Resolution 2093; or

                     (e)  is:

                              (i)  solely for the development of the security forces of the Federal Government of Somalia, and to provide security for the Somali people; and

15  Regulation 4 (paragraph (a) of the definition of controlled asset )

After "person", insert "or entity".

16  Regulation 4 (definition of designated person )

Repeal the definition.

17  Regulation 4

Insert:

"designated person or entity" means a person or entity designated by the Committee or the Security Council for the purposes of subparagraph 3(c) of Resolution 1591.

18  Subregulation 9(2) (table)

Repeal the table, substitute:
